Brookdale serves as a transitional housing and resource center for homeless people in Central Georgia. Brookdale Resource Center's 90-day program focuses on equipping residents with the skills necessary to achieve financial stability and obtain a home. Each resident at Brookdale has a caseworker who tailors their program to meet their specific needs. They assist with enrollment in school, obtaining vital documents such as birth certificates and registering residents for government benefits. Brookdale Resource Center utilizes volunteers daily for its operations. Volunteer opportunities* at Brookdale include but are not limited to serving meals, sorting donations, facility upkeep, and assorted projects.
*Volunteers must sign up through the online portal and sign the necessary Volunteer Waiver. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Minors may be accompanied by an adult with the approval of Brookdale Resource Center. Former residents will be allowed to volunteer at the Center's discretion at least one year after their most recent discharge date. We do not verify community service or court-ordered hours for any reason. We will not verify volunteer hours six months after the completion date.
